my practice contemplates becoming through active theorizing [1]. i am fascinated with human evolution through spiritual processes and our ability to deeply know ourselves or ‘PUT MEAT ON MY SOUL’ as sonia sanchez writes. my work aims to express my perpetual awe (terror + delight) of being alive and my gratitude to be a part of the history of humanity.

[1] "people of color have always theorized . . . and i am inclined to say that our theorizing (and i intentionally use the verb rather than the noun) is often in narrative forms, in the stories we create, in riddles and in proverbs, in the play with language, since dynamic rather than fixed ideas seem more to our liking."
